Australian MotoGP races last season was disrupted by bad weather during free practice and qualifying take place. However, the road race at the D-day is not disrupted and the host rider Casey Stoner became champion. After this situation, there's rumors issued that Dorna will reschedule Australian grandprix to March. However, the rumors were denied Australian MotoGP boss, Andrew Westacott, who confirmed the contract with Dorna fixed Phillip Island took place in September or October until 2016.
"Dorna has asked us to re-discuss this issue, and discussions are still ongoing. But when we have chosen is September / October," Westacott said as quoted ABC.net, Saturday, January 1, 2011. "Most fans also know, the behavior of weather means there is no guarantee there will be good or bad weather at Phillip Island," lid Westacott.
